Best Brunch in Tampa Bay

The Attic

Located in Downtown Tampa, this restaurant is a must try. It’s located on the top floor, quite literally in the “attic” of the building and oftentimes the line goes out the door - for good reason. The atmosphere is that of a casual, fast-paced diner. The food and coffee are great quality but what really brings everyone out is the beautiful outdoor patio view of Tampa Bay. Grab a latte and breakfast sandwich while overlooking the city and fresh air. You can find many photos from guests online due to the view, making this a popular influencer destination. Make sure you get there early to avoid the line, although if you do have to wait, it is worth it!

Oxford Exchange

This is a more high-end establishment that is  well-known and very “Instagramable”, as photos in front of the entrance have become a common antic. I always recommend Oxford Exchange because of the experience and unique menu. Not only is Oxford a restaurant, but there is a bookstore, Buddy Brew coffee bar, and trendy gift shop all within the same building, offering plenty to do either before or after you eat. If you stop in, definitely order the Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes and side of Truffle Mac n Cheese, paired with a Vanilla Cold Brew.

Brunchies

Brunchies may be one of my favorite restaurants on this list. There are multiple locations throughout Tampa, offering a more laid-back breakfast/brunch experience that is very family friendly with a very large menu to choose from, providing something for everyone. The service is always wonderful and very fast, and once again, the wait is worth it. I frequent the Lutz location and enjoy sitting at the bar, watching the barista pump out all varieties of coffee and bloody Mary’s! My order is the Huevos Avocado, paired with a mimosa.

On Swann

This contemporary restaurant is located in the heart of Tampa, literally on “On Swann Ave”. The Mediterranean cuisine is unique and unlike your typical brunch menu. The ambiance is very elegant and up-scale, and the food tastes just as fancy. This spot makes a great option to bring friends or a date. Another reason to visit On Swann is their seasonal rotating menu. Every few months they curate a new menu filled with foods and flavors you haven’t seen before. I suggest getting a table outside and enjoy the people-watching and beautiful Tampa weather.

Flan Factory

This is the most underrated restaurant on my list. Located in Ybor City, this small restaurant is easy to miss as you drive by, but you definitely need to stop in. They offer a beautiful array of classic Cuban breakfast and lunch foods, including the most amazing flan for a sweet treat afterwards. The Timba and Cafe Con Leche are a must-have. In addition to great breakfast and sandwiches, they curate a vast menu of unique flan flavors (like Fruity Pebbles and Cinnamon Toast Crunch) that change weekly. Once you visit, you will absolutely be back.

Maple Street Biscuit Company

A biscuit lovers dream, there are two locations, one in St. Pete, and one in Carrollwood. This place has easily become a favorite breakfast spot because of their uncommon yet delicious biscuit pairings. They have a variety of sweet and savory, as well as yummy espresso and fresh squeezed orange juice. To make the experience more lively, the employees ask you an interesting “question of the week”, and your answer is what the kitchen will shout out when your order is ready. The vegan mushroom gravy atop freshly baked biscuits holds a special place in my heart and I highly suggest popping in for a taste.
